Chapman's Ice Cream
Chapman’s is still growing and are continually expanding their distribution centers. Not only do they have the plant and a distribution center in Markdale, they also have a distribution centre in Hampton, New Brunswick. However, they don’t do any public tours in these plants due to Health and Safety Regulations.
In order for Chapman’s to meet the standards of their customers, they had to expand HUGE! Their main plant has undergone a great amount of expansion as well as their distribution center. It now covers 140,000 square feet and can hold over 6 million units of product. Can you say holy ice cream! The distribution center also maintains and shelters over 60 Chapman’s trucks that deliver ice cream all across Canada. There is also a new shelter that is 28,000 square feet for all dry ingredients and recently they just built a distribution center in New Brunswick to take care of their Atlantic Coast. Just to be environmentally safe, Chapman’s built their own water treatment plant to recycle the 675,000 litres of water used each day to clean.
